It looks like Renée Zellweger has undergone an eyelid lift

It looks like Renée Zellweger has undergone an eyelid lift; rein in your shock and horror as Angelica Kavouni wonders why she waited so long!
Congenital heavy upper eyelids look fabulous on the young, lending the face an exotic appearance but as the ageing process takes hold, they become progressively saggy, in some cases making it difficult to actually see!
Renée had very droopy eyelids which I‘m sure have become heavier over the past 5 years. Most women with naturally heavy eyelids will seek out surgery at some stage - and why should celebrities be singled out for doing the same?
The upper eyelid lift - or blepharoplasty - is singularly the most effective way to open up the face, to look younger and fresh faced. It‘s just such a shame that, in the celebrity spotlight, Renée cannot hide from the comparisons between her “before” and “after” photographs.
Blepharoplasty before and after the procedure
Blepharoplasty involves removing excess skin from the upper eyelid, with the incision hidden in the natural eye socket fold. Sometimes it‘s also necessary to secure the fat that naturally cushions and protects the back of the eye into place.
I normally perform the procedure under local anaesthetic in a sterile hospital environment. It takes under an hour to deal with both eyes and you can go home under your own steam as soon as you feel ready (no driving yourself though!)
Many of my blepharoplasty patients comment on how much “lighter” their eyes seem, and how awake they feel compared to their pre-operative state. Renée can take solace in the fact that we will all adjust to her new look very quickly (as will she) and will continue to enjoy the medical and aesthetic benefits of her surgery for many years to come.
